Pala
Pala creates eye wear, specifically sunglasses, for men and women to fit any style. They are made with purpose and passion behind their mission to give back to people, as well as remaining better for the environment. They are aware of how we consume. You can choose between regular or polarized sunglasses that are made from Italian bio-acetate instead of plastic. Their sunglasses not only provide vital care for people in Africa, but also focus on sustainable approaches to how Pala can make a positive impact globally with how we protect our planet.
Pala uses Italian bio-acetate while also being predominantly plant-based and certified biodegradable. Their packaging is sustainable, recycled, and recyclable. The soft pouches for their sunglasses are made from recycled material and their hand-woven pouches are hand-made by locals, bettering the community in which they’re made. All of their sunglasses are vegan and cruelty-free. Every pair of sunglasses gives back to people in Africa helping restore vision and empowering people. In addition to winning the Sustainable Lifestyle Aware, Pala supports Restoring Vision, is a certified B Corp, and has provided over 43,000 UK pounds in grants to eye-care projects. They’ve provided 25,000 vitamins to children in Turkana, Kenya to help prevent blindness, saved 4.72 tons of plastic from going into our landfills because of their recycled cases, 31,000 water sachets were picked up off the grounds and used in their case strips, and 502 broken frames were recycled into new components with their recycle program on broken frames. This company knows how to shine bright and gives us the tools to do so alongside them when we purchase a pair of their sunglasses.
