Outerknown
Founder Kelly Slater joined with his business partners to create Outerknown so they could “create great clothes without compromising on sustainability.” They took the difficult road for us to all to make full men’s and women’s lines of clothing that hold up to the standards of protecting the environment while making usable, stylish and quality clothes. They started with a high-performance surf trunk and expanded to full collections of both men and women’s wear.
Outerknown uses materials that are organic, recycled or regenerated. They are fair labor accredited, fair trade certified, and repair, replace, or recycle S.E.A jeans. They have full transparency in their manufacturing base. Their buttons are made of ocean plastics with a full commitment to sustainability. They’re a brand to watch as they continue to push the boundaries of sustainability and continue to enforce that we don’t need to compromise comfort and style for sustainability. They show they can not only co-exist but can flourish among each other.
