Baabuk

Baabuk puts the old values of tradition into the new feel of footwear that hug your feet in soft warmth. Using sheep that are raised ethically and sustainably, founders Dan and Galina Witting took the inspiration from traditional Siberian Valenki boots and made a series of shoes and slippers for the modern consumer. They wanted to create this wool footwear using ethically sourced wool, manufacturing techniques, and production. Through four successful crowd funding campaigns, they launched innovative collections of footwear all made from “nature’s magic fiber.”

Wool is naturally a sustainable fiber. Baabuk’s wool comes from sheep that are raised in humane conditions, well cared for, and appreciated. They are a certified B corp. Their manufacturing facilities are in Portugal and Nepal, employing locals to the community to continue pouring back into the spaces in which they operate. They recycle the water they use to prevent run off into natural waters, up-cycle fibers via collaborations and are recipients of the 2017 ISPO Gold Winner award. They aren’t sheepish about their desire to make a difference in every step of the way.
